New Landlord Wanted At Kings Head

The Kings Head pub in Maldon Road - that closed down before Christmas - is again seeking a new landlord.

The capital start up/ingoings required is £12,450 plus £8000 for fixtures and fittings. On top of that the rent is £21,900 per year and the business rates are £22,000 per annum. Any takers?

New Development At Vineyards

Marable House, the derelict building next to the Vineyards, in the heart of Great Baddow is due to be demolised.

It will be replaced by a total of 53 apartments (an assortment of 1 and 2 bed dwellings). Work has begun and the new development to be known as 'Heron Gate' will be complete by the end of 2016.

New Start For A New Year

The newly refurbished shop in the Vineyards between NatWest bank and the old Barclays bank is still looking for a new tenant....while the Kings Head pub in Maldon Road appears to have closed down again. It has remained shut since the turn of the New Year.


New Choir Group At Baddow Club

Modern choir group 'Funky Voices' are now looking for new singers to join their group. They meet at the Great Baddow Community Centre www.facebook.com/baddowclub on Thursday evenings from 7.45pm - 9.45pm.

Sutherland Lodge Surgery Disruption

January 2016


The four senior partners at the Sutherland Lodge Surgery in Baddow Road have resigned because of government funding cuts. They have given notice to leave on 30th June 2016 and the surgery now faces an uncertain future. Other local surgeries in the area, including Great Baddow Village Surgery, are now expected to receive an influx of new patient requests.

NHS England insist that the surgery will not close and are now looking for a new provider to take over from 1st July 2016.
