The Great Baddow Charity Races 2013

The Great Baddow Charity Races are now in their 29th year. The races consist of a 10 mile race and a 2 mile fun run through Great Baddow and Galleywood.

The races are organised by The Rotary Club Of Chelmsford Mildmay. Proceeds from the event are used to support charities working for local people. This year's charities included the Chelmsford Starfish Project, the Alzheimer's Society, Riding For The Disabled and Hargrave House.

UKIP Push Tories Close In Great Baddow

In the Essex County Council elections held this month UKIP came very close to defeating the Conservatives in Great Baddow. UKIP candidate Jeanette Howes lost by just 72 votes to Conservative winner Jenny Chandler. 

Voting for Great Baddow was as follows: Jenny Chandler (Con) 1440; Jeanette Howes (UKIP) 1368; Chris Rycroft (LD) 1191; Richard Hyland (Lab) 472; Darryl Newport (green) 152; Turnout 29.4%.
